“Kathleen and her wonderful yoga-in-a chair class! How I wish I had discovered the benefits of this class years before I did! Kathleen is upbeat, a leader, she gives the class confidence, and for me re-stability! I feel “grounded” and so relaxed after her classes. I am a long time participant and wouldn’t miss a class. We all love her.”

“Kathleen has been teaching seniors at the Victorian @ McKenzie for several years. She has a loyal following who look forward to her classes, not just for the exercise but for Kathleen’s smiles and humor, her genuine interest in each and every one of her class participants. She is a skilled instructor and a reliable, consummate professional who I can recommend without hesitation. I have been an exercise instructor, trainer and recreation administrator for almost 30 years. Kathleen is one of the best instructors that I have worked with in that period.”

“My mom has a arthritis in the spine and I have watched with much sadness over the years her decline in her ability to move. I purchased Kathy’s Yoga in a Chair DVD for mom a few months ago hoping that I could get mom active in a chair at least. My mom is 84 years and to watch her try the movements without ever having done yoga touched my heart and soul. At the end of watching the DVD, I asked her what she thought. She said “I like Kathy – she has nice energy”. Pretty simple words however I know she will continue to watch yoga in chair trying the different moves if she likes Kathy and that was my aim.”

Kathleen has been teaching Yoga in Chair at the SHOAL Activity Centre for over two years and her classes are so popular, we run them back-to-back every 8 weeks almost all year long. It’s an ideal exercise for Active Aging, weather you are 40 or 80, since the emphasis is on strengthening the inner core while seated in a chair, using breathwork and gentle movements that help to calm and reenergize. The health benefits are what bring people back time after time. The most common descriptions I hear are “I love that class” and “Kathleen is an excellent teacher – she really knows what she’s doing.”

“Kathleen’s class creates a space for students to acknowledge how they are feeling and to focus on their health in a very supportive and empowering environment.
Kathleen’s instruction is clear, easy to follow and informative, teaching her students exactly what effect the yoga moves are having in their bodies and which area’s of well-being are being targeted with each move.
The atmosphere is welcoming and accepting and open to both students with limited physical ability and those who are more physically independent.
Each student is encouraged to participate at the level they choose, and all are acknowledged for their good work in simply being present and choosing to engage at a level of their choice. Kathleen’s ability to have each of her students feel completely appreciated, acknowledged, empowered and relaxed is part of what keeps her students coming back for more.”
